The Notebook contains shorter essays, observations and research-related writing that falls outside formal academic publication. It includes notes on books and manuscripts, historical objects and collections, places encountered through research and travel, reading, and occasional reflections arising from my wider interests.

Entries may appear in English, Urdu, Persian or Arabic and are presented in their original language with typography and text direction appropriate to each script.
